I’m already doing a Goodreads giveaway for my essay collection over here, but obviously not everyone is a Goodreads member, so I wanted to give those people a shot too. Enter below to win a signed copy of the trade paperback of A Brief History of the Future, plus the ebook in your choice of format. I got my galley proof of the paperback today and except for a few very minor formatting tweaks, it looks pretty great. Am pleased.
Long story short: GIVE ME CONTACT INFO, GET FREE BOOK MAYBE
I’ll draw a winner on July 1st, when the book gets released.
This time next month, the trade paperback edition of Line and Orbit will be available to purchase. Isn’t that exciting? But wait!! YOU DON’T NECESSARILY HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR OWN COPY. Because I’m giving one away, you see (one of those pictured up there, oh they are so pretty). And even BETTER: it will be signed by me and my lovely co-author.
Want to enter? Simply fill out this handy form. I promise to guard with my very life, and completely forget, via extensive sessions of hypnosis, all of your personal information as soon as the contest is over. At midnight on February 4th, the contest will end, and I will select one lucky person.

If you want to find out more about the book itself, clicky. If you want to read the first chapter, clicky. And of course, if you actually end up spending money on the book, that is incredibly awesome and so much appreciated.

Now that We See a Different Frontier has been released – and is getting some fantastic critical response, some of which you can read about here, as well as Aliette de Bodard’s mini review here – it seems to me that it might be a good idea to give a free copy of it away to you lovely people. Line and Orbit has been out for a month now, and what a month it’s been. I want to once again thank everyone who’s spread the word about it, and again encourage anyone who reads and enjoys it to do the same – you do me and my co-author a truly immeasurable favor when you do so, and we appreciate it so much.
So in honor of its releasiversary, I’m doing two things.
- I’m running a Tumblr giveaway of a free copy of the book. Have a Tumblr account? All you have to do in order to enter is reblog. Monday after next I’ll pick a winner at random.
- I’m posting the entire third chapter below, wherein we introduce our roguish smartass secret-man-pain MC2 Lochlan d’Bideshi, and blind-seer delightfully prickly wisewoman Ixchel. Enjoy.
Promise I’m almost done yelling about this: There is now ONE WEEK REMAINING in my Line and Orbit giveaway. So get in on that now if you haven’t.
Quick recap: Chosen at random, two people will win magnets and copies of the ebook in their choice of formats. One lucky person will win a magnet, a nifty flash drive loaded with all formats of the ebook, and a bunch of jewelry I made.
