A couple things:

• My story “I Tell Thee All, I Can No More” is available to read for free in the July issue of Clarkesworld. I… have no idea what genre it is. I’m not even sure how to describe it except to say that there’s a lot going on. It was originally written for Murmuration but then I got another idea for that and ended up going in a different direction. It and “All the Literati Keep an Imaginary Friend” are sibling stories and I think are best read together, though of course one can also be consumed without exposure to the other.
  

  Fighting with a drone is like fucking a drone in reverse. It’s all me. The drone just dodges, occasionally catches projectiles at an angle that bounces them back at me, and this might amount to throwing. All drones carry two AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, neatly resized as needed, because all drones are collections of every assumption we’ve ever made about them, but a drone has never fired a missile at anyone they were fucking.

  This is no-stakes fighting. I’m not even sure what I’m yelling about. After a while the drone drifts out the window. I cry and scream for it to call me. I order a pizza and spend the rest of the day in bed.

Other writing stuff: I dunno. Still chugging along with novels. I’ve been poking at a couple short stories lately but I seem to be in a dry period regarding short story mojo, which is sort of frustrating. I mean, I gather that it’s just being in novel-mode – which is very different from short story mode – and not really being able to switch out of it quickly, but I miss short stories. Hopefully once I finish these two projects I’ll be able to take a break from novels for a while and switch back over again.
